by sgmuthukumar » Tue Sep 21, 2010 5:49 am
Hi,

I increasingly finding the GMAT verbal questions with Idioms a difficult one to crack, though I do reasonably well in RC and CR.I have my exams on Oct1 st, in another 10 days. Perhaps can anyone help me out here in rectifying my problem with GMAT Idioms?

Thanks

Idioms are tough. Native speakers simply hear them, explaining them to a non-native speaker is tough. There are several online sources, but the only answer is to find a good list memorize them. By definition idioms do not obey rules or follow standard formats.

Like Tani has mentioned, it is hard to try to 'cram' it. Make a list of 10-15 idioms and some sample sentences everyday and go through it all day whenever you get a chance. That will help it get cemented :)
Repeat for other idioms.
Good Luck
