During the test, are you allowed to

by fusco » Mon Feb 28, 2011 8:13 pm
I was wondering, are you allowed to eat during the test?

Also, are you allowed to listen to music during the test? I'd like classical music playing in my ears at all times.

Edit: Nevermind I found the answer on https://www.koolkareers.com/careers/gmat ... gmat-test/

I guess I can't stress eat or calm myself with music during the test.

You CAN eat during the test in the sense that you can put food in your locker and consume it during one of your breaks. I did that with chewy granola bars, my goto food for standardized tests.

Why CGB's?

They're a great source of short-term sugar energy, as well as long-term carbohydrate energy. They're cheap, easy, modular, and last forever.

You can't go wrong with a chocolate chip and peanut butter quaker CGB for the GMAT. Fo sho!

This is an opportunity to remind people to practice the way that you want to perform. So try to make your practice tests like the actual test.

Same time of day when possible.

Do the entire test - include AWA when possible.

Have relative quiet - maybe have some other friends typing in the same room and have them get up and walk around every once in a while. You don't want perfect silence...

This gives you a chance to try using earplugs and try without and see which is better.

No food no drink only 8 minutes breaks!

No music!

And try to convince yourself that it is the test...So that you really try so that you can see how your methods are working.

As for snack - I am a fan of the Cliff Bar. It has less sugar than some other bars and more complex carbs for the long haul.
