GMAT strategy

So I've read a ton about how to prepare for the test by reading all the right books and doing all the right practice problems, but I would love some advice on how to work the GMAT. There has to be a strategy on how to handle different questions, tricks the use to trip you up and how to learn them before going into the test... anyone know of any tips on strategy that goes beyond learning the math and verbal?

oh,i plan to do all the hours and work necessary, but if i also had GMAT breaking strategies that could help my score improve at all, that would be great too!

Well if you read the right books, do the right problems, and use the right strategies I think you should learn the things you have asked about along the way. The pitfalls and traps vary from one person to another so no book nor any amount of reading can prepare you 100% - you just have to dive in and learn as you go. Of course, I strongly encourage you to engage this community to make your studies even more efficient.

My friend, that is what the prep books are for! A solid one to start with is Cracking the GMAT. It's very easy to read and the tips are great. Get the DVD version for the tests.

The Official Guide (practice questions) and GMATPrep (practice CATs) are essential as well, although they don't have any strategies.
