Dang!!! Missed the 7-High.
Score: Q49/V34 - 680
I started on April 19th after my BDay and took the exam on May 16th.
Started with OG 11 and Official Math and Verbal Guides with 2 Hrs a day on weekdays and 4 Hrs on Weekends. [My work schedule was hectic]
Math was easy BUT Verbal was a mix of both easy and challenging (mostly challenging).
Worked on each section at a time
- resolving issues
- learning from each mistake
- reinventing the strategy
Took my first GMAT on April 19th got a 530, I was like Dang, I suck!!!
Then after the prep on each section, started taking FLTs in the last week before the exam, from 9th.
Started with MGMAT's. By this time the score had improved ranging from 610-640 (took all six of them). However, the time management was bad. I couldn't finish any of the sections.
Then someone suggested about the pacer on Kaplan. Started with that 3 days before the exam on 13th (took all five of them). AND WOW!!! results were surprising, score moved up!!! ranging from 680-720.
Exam Day#
Worst Part : The dude sitting next to me was constantly moving and shaking the table. Anyways, no excuses.
Best part: AWA was a piece of cake [Considerin, the only time I prepared for it was an hour before the exam while waiting in the hall, lol. I wonder what the fuss is all about]
Quant: Was decent, I wonder where I went wrong.
By this time I was expecting a score around 690-710.
Verbal: So not fun, was able to keep up with the first 20 but then came the bouncers and bogged me down. I had 8 questions left in the final 5 mins. Panic Attack!!! screwed up the last 8. [Should've spent more time on the pacer
]
By this time I was expecting 600-620 and was super sad plus had a numb brain.
And then came the results, for a sec I thought that was an example score sheet, only a moment later to realise NICE!!! Not bad.
Well tht's my story -
My 50 Cents #
- Strategize and work on your time and keep reinventing your strategy [DO NOT Stick to one, it should evolve with you and your score]
- DO NOT Rush thru, GMAT wants you to do that. Tht's how this bugger took points away from me. There were two questions for which after answering I realised oops, that wasn't what was asked and cursed myself.
- Like one of my BeatTheGMAT members once said. You can do it. All you need is The Desire.
Plan now -
Confused, whether to retake or apply to colleges?????
I've
Experience: 5 Years in consulting with 3 Years onsite. Got promoted each year.
Awards: Many of them, both client and company.
Certifications: Black Belt in Six Sigma, CAPM, Business Process Solutions, ITIL Foundation & LOMA FLMI Level 1
GPA: First Class [It doesn't makes sense to convert GPA's across the globe when they're so different, one of those logical fallacies I read for AWA
]
Extra Curricular: Fun stuff
I am looking forward to Part Time from any of the below
Kellogg
Booth
