I took the GMAT 6 years ago with maybe two days of studying and received a 580. I need to take the GMAT in about 6-8 weeks from now and need to get into the mid 600 range (at least). I am not able to take a live course and am looking at online courses. I think I have it narrowed down to Knewton and Manhattan GMAT. My concern about Manhattan GMAT is it seems like it is geared towards those alerady in the upper 600 range. I am wondering if it will be over my head to begin with? Any thoughts?

You appear to have done your research; i totally agree with you. MGMAT is definitely geared towards students who want to/ will score 650+ , but that being said, you should not have a hard time keeping up if you stick to their schedule i.e. study plan.
Knewton, on the other hand, offers a not-so-demanding course, which instills the basics really well.

If you have not yet started studying, then go for Knewton. However, if you have already started hitting the books and are somewhat familiar with various Quant & Verbal topics, then go for Manhattan. Personally, i love Manhattan's live online classes because they employ the 'cold call', which forces you to be prepared for each class in order to avoid looking like a total fool :)

You may also want to consider hiring a personal tutor, which will allow you to customize your learning. While we are on this topic, you may want to check out the "Personal Tutor" giveaway - all you have to do is put your name down.
