Hi,

I recently wrote GMAT and scored 610 (Q = 48, V =26, AWA = 5), I know I did terrible in Verbal.

I have total of 3 years of work experience in top MNC's.

I want to apply for MBA programme for 2010 in UK business schools as there the course is for 1 year.

Considering that I have a modest profile, I would like to know whether I would be able to make it to first 20 MBA schools in UK?

As per my research I have shortlisted few schools for my profile, Pleas suggest.

1) Lancaster
2) Warwick
3) Edinburgh
4) Leeds
5) Strathclyde
6) Durham
7) Nottingham

Hi and thanks for your question.

Your background is an interesting one. It sounds like you have good work experience but perhaps not so great GMAT and GPA.

A few thoughts...

1) I'm not really in the school recommending business. I can, however, suggest that you take a look at my sticky post on Criteria for School Selection.

2) The GMAT seems low to me. Is there anyway that you can bring that up? My experience is that many people think that they went into the test prepared but actually did not completely know their "core knowledge." Core knowledge is triangle ratios, etc., etc. If you don't know it...well, you're leaving points on the table, to say the least.

3) The challenge w/ the GMAT is that it is always fresh. Your GPA matters less and less as you get further away from college...but your GMAT matters more and more b/c it's a pretty objective evaluation. So...I come back to the GMAT and your chances of improving it.
Keep me in the loop about your thinking and let me know if you have any more questions.
