Basic question about GMAT

by Pearson » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:08 am
Hi! I am currently doing B.Tech and would like to get a few basic information regarding exams for MBA programs abroad.

1. Is work experience a must in order to join top b-schools abroad?
2. What exams should I prepare for this? GRE, GMAT or any other?
3. Was thinking of starting to prepare for the GRE so will not be able to give my 100% to my B.Tech. Is this fine? How important % of graduation is while admission for MBA?? or should I only focus on engineering and prepare for GMAT later?

Thanks

1. Yes, most MBA programs or the decent ones require work experience. Top schools usually have applicants with work experience ranging from 5 to 12 years.

2. GMAT is your best way to get into a B-school.

3. Your graduation score definitely counts. B-schools look at your overall profile that includes - quality of work experience, leadership qualities, GMAT score, your GPA, extra-curricular activities and other special achievements.
