GMAT killed me very badly!!

by nroy347 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 1:01 pm
Hi

Today(19th September) I took my GMAT after preparing for 3 months. My scored was real bad in actual gmat.Although I never did so badly in Mock Tests.
I just scored 500( 47/16). Verbal killed me badly.I have never scored so badly in this.
To start with I practised everything I could. I did OG 13 , verbal 2nd edition, kaplan 800 , manhattan SC.
When I used to give mocks I had low accuracy in CR and RC.SC was fine.In the real gmat I faced problem with the timings.I don't know what exactly happened .In the end I was left with 7 questions and had just 2 minutes.I marked all answer randomly. All my MGMAT and GMAT prep were from 630 to 680 though I never touched 700. But 500 score has put me into depression. Though I am planning to take again in November I am still not able to build up the stamina. Please anyone who could help me with this trauma of GMAT verbal.I know this is not the end.

Just little introduction of fine - Job experience - Just completed 2 years in software firm.I really want to do mba but somehow because of this score I feel very demoralised. If anyone out here could suggest me the study plan in another one month,I would be highly obliged.

Thnx!

You need a resource that will provide theory concerning the subjects tested in the GMAT. I would recommend that you focus on accuracy currently and then 2 weeks before the exam do simulation tests, work with the OG and concentrate on timing. At present you need to revise the material so that you will be able to support your choices with specific rules.

Please don't be. If you were scoring 630-680 consistently on GMATPrep, that is where you belong. Life takes its toll this way sometimes. If your last study plan was fetching you 630-680 range, just continue that plan and don't try anything radically different, except for pacing yourself well.

It is important however, that you maintain your current level of preparation. Since you are currently demotivated, even this might be a challenge; but you just have to do it for yourself!!
