A - correct, although the pronoun "their" may be ambiguous
B - unnecessary repetition of the verb "are"
C - illogical, it is not "because of" the two novels that the scholars find the understanding of them evolving, it is because the two novels are very complex
D - incorrect grammatically, "that" and "is why" cannot be separated
E - incorrect grammatically, the subject "early novels" is plural and the verb "explains" is singular
