How many integers are there between C and D?

(1) Neither c nor d is an integer.

(2) c - d = 3

i think if c, d are not an integer and if the question lets us know that c and d are positive it would be only 3 integer between c and d but what about if c and d is negative or negative for c and positive for d or opposite? there would be 4 integer...
anybody helps please

a) insufficient.
b) c-d = 3
c = 5, d=2. # in between = 2 (3,4)
c=5.5,d=2.5. # in between = 3 (3,4,5)
insufficient
a&b) c=-2.5,d=-5.5. # of integers = -5,-4,-3 (3)
d = -2.5, c=.5, # of integers = -2,-1,0 (3)
sufficient
