(A) "as she was" is wrong; "in her suggestion" is wrong
(B) "as she was" is wrong
(C) "in being" is wrong; "with the suggestion" is wrong
(D) looks OK
(E) "she" should ont come after comma; "in suggesting" is wrong

Answer choice (D) it is :)

The answer should be D. Here's why:

A - "as" doesn't make sense. In addition to incorrect grammar, this suggests that just because Elizabeth Stanton was a staunch advocate of liberalized divorce laws, she scandalized many of her most ardent supporters.

B - Same as A.

C - "in being" isn't correct, and "being" isn't correct either, with respect to tense usage (last word of the sentence)

E - "she scandalized..." isn't correct; this is supposed to be a clause, not a sentence

No dispute abt Ans.

Just wanna add one more point here...

As per my knowledge, wen we use word 'SUGGEST' then it become subjuncive (First verb with infinitive without 'TO') and we can't use word SHOULD with this wod i.e. SUGGEST ...

Please correct me if wrong...
