Experience for Harvard's MBA

by balramverma » Tue Feb 04, 2014 10:38 am
I am a graduate student with 78% marks. I have a dream of getting into HBS. I want to know- will my experience of working as an inspector in food supply department of government in my state be considered for admission into Harvard? Or do I need to work in a corporate company to get into HBS? I am looking to apply after 4-5 years as I am 22 now. I need to get experience for HBS. I want to start planning for HBS right now that is why I am looking for guidance to get prepared for Harvard.

Hi balramverma,

Thanks for your email. About Harvard Business School, every year the program accepts candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. In fact, diversity is a very important part of what the admissions team is looking for. What is most important is not the specific industry you are working in, but rather how you excel in that position.
