I am a 30 year old female who is interested in breaking into I-Banking or Management consulting from an engineering background. I am looking schools within my reach that are good for breaking into I-Banking and Mgmt Consulting. I usually hear people talk of Harvard and Columbia etc for breaking into such sectors post-MBA. However, I have an average profile with a 740 GMAT and a 2.8 GPA from a top engineering school (downward trend, failed classes). So, schools like columbia and harvard are not within my reach. My work experience is all in engineering as well.
What schools that are within my reach are good to break into banking and mgmt consulting. I appreciate any help/feedback. Also, is my age a negative factor or nor necessarily?

Thanks
Diane
