Cynics charge that Major League Baseball lobbied for stadiums with fewer seats to reduce supply and increase ticket prices.

A.lobbied for stadiums with fewer seats to reduce supply and increase ticket prices.
B.lobbied for stadiums with less seats to reduce supply and increase ticket prices.
C.lobbied for stadiums that had been built with fewer seats to reduce supply and increase ticket prices.
D.lobbied for stadiums that had less seats to reduce supply and increase ticket prices.
E.lobbied for stadiums that had less seats as a means of reducing supply so they could increase ticket prices.

number of seats is countable. hence fewer needs to be used.
BDE out.

use of "had been built" unnecessarily changes the intended meanin in C.

imo a since its the most concise and uses 'fewer' because seats is a countable noun.

Easy kill I guess.... seats are countable so less --not suitable for it
C....had been built with fewer seats
shift in tense not required plus it seems wordy as well...

so A stands...

By the way good logic in the sentence....lol

But how does 'A' convey the meaning that reduction in seating capacity affects pricing.

The preposition to helps out.

Doesn't this mean that fewer the seats, more the price?
