if vs whether - more than 2 options

I know if there are 2 options, we use - whether
but if thee are more than 2 options, what should be used - if/whether

Examples:

I was confused whether to eat an apple or an orange - correct
I was confused whether to eat an apple or an orange or a guava - ?
I was confused if to eat an apple or an orange or a guava - ?

You should never use "if" to introduce an indirect question/ statement. You should always use WHETHER.
