OA after a few reply.

If the drama club and music club are combined, what percent of the
combined membership will be male?

(1) Of the 16 members of the drama club, 15 are male

(2) Of the 20 members of the music club, 10 are male.

A very old thread, but got this on Q on GMATPrep today and the searched this on BTG.

"Since there is no information on the number of males common between the drama club and music club"

I keep getting such problems wrong. Agreed, there is no information on shared males but then there is no information in the question stem that says there is sharing. The question hints more towards that these clubs are seperate ?

Where does the assumption/not-an-assumption start/end ?

Any well-tested rules/thoughts appreciated.

Took the GMAT prep today and got this Q wrong... one that I thought was pretty straightforwards, but apparently not.

How do we assume that there can be overlap between the groups? gahhhhhh
