by lilouelle » Wed Oct 10, 2012 2:35 am
hi
I struggle in math for this question
a father,a mother and a son have at all 75 000$

the father has 50% more than his son and has 20% more than the mother

what is the difference of amount betwwen the father and the son.

A/
B/
C/
D/
E/
sorry, do not remember the answers.....

my reasoning

ratio : F/S = 3/2
F/M=5/4

F----- S----M
3 2
5 4
______________
15 12 10

15x+12x+10x=75000
X= 75000/37

F-S= 3x
is tht right???

Your F/M ratio is wrong it should be 6/5.

5 is 25% more than 4, while 6 is 20% more than 5.

Otherwise your logic is right.
