Sandra saves the same amount of money each month in an account for her
children's future college expenses. 10 years from now, will Sandra have
saved at least $12,000 more than she currently has in the account?

(1) 10 years from now, Sandra will have saved a total of $20,000 in the
account.

(2) Sandra will have saved $110 in the account this month.

Isn't statement 2 sufficient to say that she would have indeed saved > $12,000 in 120 months (120 * 110 > 12,000)

Something tells me that there is more to this question than just this ;-D

Isn't 1 sufficient she saves the same amount of money each month..so we have the total amount after 10 years thus we can find the current amount..??

It think it should be B.
The question actually asks whether she can save 12000 in 10 yrs.
A is insufficient because we don't know what amount she started with. So, 20K in 10 years doesn't refelect anything. Say she already has 15K. Then after 10 yrs will she have saved 12K more than this? Not sure. So, A not sufficient.
B says she saves 110/month so we can calculate for 10 yrs and find out whether it is greater than 12K or not. Hence B alone is sufficient.

My interpretation of the question led me to answer C

I think statement two says that her account balance would be 110 this month, it doesnt mean she saved that much.

Am I right?

Pleae give the OA

The statement says "Sandra will have saved $110 in the account this month" i.e. "Saved" and does not mean her account balance is 110. So, B should sufficient.

Clearly A is not sufficient:

We neeed to prove after 10 yrs , Y >= 12000 ...( Y savings per month)

It could be that she has already (say) 15000 already in her account and after as per he statement 1 shje has 20 000 . It means she only had 5000 as Savings amount.

Case 2: It could be that she had 1000 to start with in her account & at the end of 10 years her savings could have been ( 20000 - 1000): 19000 which is defeinetlt freater than 12 000.

We are indefenite about the money she started with . So A is insufficient!!

ST 2 is Sandra will have saved $110 in the account this month.

That Mounts to 13200 which is greater than 12000 . SO sufficient

Pick B
