Good question. It's been a very competitive couple of years, but for my money, the bottom line is that you have a shot at a top school because of your unique background, ethnicity and work experience. Particularly because your post-MBA vision makes logical sense in light of your prior experience, I think you could craft a compelling admissions package (consider help from a consultant to help you do this--yes! I am biased!). Graduating from a top US college is good as well, and don't forget that half the admits to any school score below the mean on the GMAT. If you're really worried about your GMAT, you could always try to juice up your score with a prep class and retake....hope this helps and good luck.
