Chances of getting in

Hi all. I am about to start working on applications for September 2010 and I would love to hear your opinions on my chances for a few schools.

GMAT: 750
GPA: 3.69 (Bachelor's of Arts)
Work experience: 2.5 years in entertainment project coordination/account management in US and UK. 1 year in Government communication/PR in Asia.
MBA: I would choose marketing and media concentrations and hope to work on entertainment/media marketing after graduation.

My top choice is Columbia. Then NYU, UCLA, USC.

Any advice and/or opinions? Do you think my undergraduate degree and type of experience will decrease my chances?

Hi,

You haven't included sufficient details pertaining to your work experience and your extra currics which form a huge chunk of your evaluation profile. That said, a 750 on the GMAT and a 3.69 GPA are good enough for the schools mentioned. But the targeted schools stress a lot on leadership, future potential, contribution to the society, outstanding achievements in all aspects etc.

We cannot give a detailed analysis based on info given. But your GMAT Score and GPA are good for the schools targeted.

I was in a global company for 2.5 years, where I got promoted twice. In my second position, I hired and coordinated over 100 freelance contractors. Then I became an account manager for a big client, but wasn't a management position. Now I do PR/communications for a European government office in Asia. My extracurriculars are not stellar.
