I had my 3rd attempt yesterday, and I would like to share some of my frustrations.
I sacrificed much of my personal life activities to succeed in the GMAT,
but still I haven't reached my desired goal, which is approximately the 700 mark.
I studied hard for all three attempts.
In the first one I received 550 Q46 V21.
In the following month I made the second attempt. 640 Q48 V28.
Another month passed, and I made another attempt (which was yesterday). 640 Q45 V32.
I know I am in the 700 level, and in all simulations (including gmatPrep) I have never received less than 48 in the quantitative section. Usually it is 49-50, and rarely 48. My average verbal score is 38.
I believe the pressure is influencing me by a great deal.
There is another factor. I have noticed that my time management in simulations is much better than it is during the actual test. In my third attempt I had to guess 10 questions (32-41), which never happened to me at home.
Another interesting fact was that in question 32 I had a really tough biology reading comprehension passage. I looked at the time, and there were 9 minutes left. I couldn't avoid thinking that I won't be able to complete the text in time, because such a difficult text (with 4 long questions) usually takes me 9 minutes, and indeed I guessed all of the questions in this passage.
My conclusions for the fourth attempt:
1. Strict time management. I need to increase my time checkpoints and to pace myself accordingly. (one checkpoint is not enough).
2. I need to learn to cope with stress in order to be more creative in quantitative.
