Difficulty of Official Guide Problems

Are the difficulty levels of the Official Guide RC and CR representative of the difficulty level of the RC and CR problems on the actual GMAT?

When I've taken Manhattan GMAT pratice tests, I always seem to miss a few RC and CR problems. When I've done the most difficult problems in the OG, I've barely missed any. Am I just doing better at the OG problems or are they easier than the difficult GMAT problems?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure that I'm preparing for the appropiate level of difficulty.

If you are getting a majority of Qs in OG12 correct, the Qs that you might see in the actual GMAT might be a bit tougher. Many of the folks who've been taking GMAT lately seem to think that is the case. I felt it that way myself.

Another way to think of it is that if you have mastered the OG, you'll see harder questions on any adaptive test because your skill level is high. It's the GMAT catch-22, the better you are at the test, the harder the test gets! I'd take it as a good sign. Master the OG, then create and error log for the RC and CR questions you miss. Try to break down WHY you repeatedly choose an incorrect answer. Good luck!
