Whether the entry pathway for a particular nonindigeneous species can be determined is LEAST likely to depend upon which of the following?

A)whether the species is considered to be a pest
B) whether the species gains entry through a scrutinized route
C) the rate at which the species expands geographically
D) How long the species has been established
E) the size of the average member of the species

OA E

I found C correct

in the book explanation is given as C is already mention explicitly in the second paragraph as factors affecting how precisely the entry pathway(s) of a species can be determined.
can anyone point me out where it is mention in the second paragraph?

Moreover in the passage in the last sentence of the second paragraph it is mention clearly that Finally some comparisons between pathways defy.........the entry pathway of one very harmful species or one by which many but less harmful species enter the county. This does not relate the size of the average member of the species which is given in choice E?

In the second paragraph, it says these species are "usually detected only after... having spread to at least ten thousand acres." So, how quickly a species spreads to 10,000 acres will determine how quickly it is detected. Since we have to detect a species before we can trace its entryway, the rate at which it expands geographically is relevant.

The last sentence of that paragraph does contain a comparison between one harmful species and many harmless species, but that's a comparison of NUMBER, not SIZE. It could be a harmful species made up of tiny members, or a harmless species made up of giant members. Size is not relevant here.
