Monday, Wednesday, and Friday x minutes/day = x/60 hrs/day
So in this total 3 days the total hours will be accumulated to = 3x/60 = x/20 hrs

Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday y minutes/day = y/60 hrs/day
So in this total 4 days the total hours will be accumulated to = 4y/60 = 2y/30 hrs

Thus in a week total Mary works = x/20 + 2y/30 hrs

So total work in 20 weeks = 20*( x/20 + 2y/30 ) hrs = x + 4y/3 hrs

Average per day = (x + 4y/3)/(20*7) = (x + 4y/3)/140 = (3x+4y)/420

Note that the average over 20 weeks will be same as that of one week as she does same amount of work in each week.

In one week, i.e. 7 days she works for a total of (3x + 4y) minutes.
=> In 1 day she works for (3x + 4y)/7 minutes

Now (3x + 4y)/7 minutes = [(3x + 4y)/7]/60 hours = (3x + 4y)/420 hours

i think the term 'weekdays' is rather ambiguous. other week days could also mean tuesday and thursday only. since there might be no work on weekends which is normal incase of working professionals.

Agree - I would automatically assume weekdays excluded Saturday and Sunday.

not where I come from. Sometimes you see "business days" which means Monday to Friday but also excludes any holidays.
