616. Sartre believed each individual is responsible to choose one course of action over another one, that it is the choice that gives value to the act, and that nothing that is not acted upon has value.
(A) each individual is responsible to choose one course of action over another one
(B) that each individual is responsible for choosing one course of action over another
(C) that each individual is responsible, choosing one course of action over another
(D) that each individual is responsible to choose one course of action over the other
(E) each individual is responsible for choosing one course of action over other ones

OA is

B .

Can somebody suggest the use of 'that'?

Where are the possible areas where that is used. Because in certain areas it becomes really difficult to differentiate between that and to. In the above example if there would have been an option starting from 'to' i would have had a real fight to choose a right ans. Please help

sastre believed to each individual.. ?? sounds pretty awkward. also that here is acting as a conjunction introducing each individual is..

B is correct because it has two correct idiomatic usages: responsible.. for and choosing one over the another..

i have a question here. we shd say i choose one over the other right? instead of i choose one over the another??

other vs another??.. your thoughts?

"the other" is used where it is specific to two or the remaining one left out.

e.g. Between two of these motorcycles i like the other one. (another one is incorrect here)

where as another is used where it could be referred to any one, not specified.

e.g. the above (the one in question) example is a well stated one.
