(1) p is a two-digit number.
(2) p = 3^k, where k is a positive integer.
Question stem:
What is the remainder when 29 is divided by p?

Statement 1:
Case 1: p=10
In this case, 29/10 = 2 R9.
Case 2: p=11
In this case, 29/11 = 2 R7.
Since the remainder can be different values, INSUFFICIENT.

Statement 2:
Case 1: p = 3¹ = 3
In this case, 29/3 = 9 R2.
Case 2: p = 3² = 9
In this case, 29/9 = 3 R2.
Case 3: p = 3³ = 27
In this case, 29/27 = 1 R2.
In every case, the remainder is 2.
SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is B.
