Target Career post MBA : Operations/ Logistics
* My story is that pre-MBA,(in the past 3 years) I have worked through the entire product dev cycle before manufacturing (i.e - research, virtual validation and testing) and MBA is the bridge to make the jump to the world that lies beyond manufacturing (i.e ops and log).

Target Schools : MIT Sloan - LGO
Kellogs - MMM
ISB, Hyderabad
Ross
HBS

Intended Year of Appllying : 2012-2014 session

* I have few nice stories to talk about. I am more concerned about the fact that because of certain personal constraints I am being forced to apply with 3yrs wrk ex at matriculation.

Is it too early - Should I hold on for another year ? Ideally I would like to apply this year because of some personal issues. What would my chances be like ?

Pattrow,

You have chosen your target programs well. You may also want to consider CMU Tepper, which is very friendly to younger applicants and also has strengths in logistics and operations. You may also want to give Stanford a try, although it is very hard to get into.

I see little downside to trying to get in this year, and if personal circumstances are better now, then go for it. If you are rejected, you can just reapply with a year of additional experience and growth. At schools like HBS, Stanford, and CMU, your experience level may even be an advantage.
