Please evaluate my profile

by varalaxmi » Sat Feb 20, 2010 12:24 am
Hello,
I am planning on applying to LSE's MSc in Management course this year. I'd be grateful if you can evaluate my profile.

I'm a final year Engineering student majoring in Computer Sci and Engg from a very reputed college in India. My average percentage so far is 84.5%

TOEFL IBT:118

GRE: Quants - 770 Verbal- 630 AWA:4.0

Tenth grade: 96.4%. I was placed 3rd in my batch of 219 students. I was also awarded a certificate of merit for being among the top 0.1% of students in the Introductory IT paper in the country. As a result of my performance,I was invited to attend a program on "Youth Leadership in Science" conducted by the Structural Engineering Research Center which is a Central Govt. organisation

Twelfth grade: 93.8%

Responsibilities held: I'm presently the Vice-President of the Association of Computer Engineers of my college. Only the 3rd girl student to be elected to the post.

Additional info: Over the last two yrs I've been attending many workshops on entrepreneurship. I've also presented my business plan in many national and international competitions. My team was placed third in the international b-plan event conducted by SRM University,Chennai,India in October 2009.

I'm very fluent in English and have been the Master of Ceremonies in many college events.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I am not sure if they do abroad. That is why I'm enquiring. I am a fresher, so this is what I can bank on. Besides, a friend of mine who is a fresher too got an admit from LSE based on her high school and undergrad achievements.

yes. high accolades are an advantage to one's profile. after all its not just the scores tht one looks out for.its an overall mixture of work exp, gmat ,acads, extra curricular activites.

Hope this helps :)

P.s.: i think u stand a fair chance :)

Your profile is very nice...you have scored a fair amount in ur 10th and 12th standard....surely u gonna get help from ur school days performance..
GMAT/GRE always consider ur overall performance and not ur instatnt performance..I think ur profile is very perfect for the same...Though I'm new to GMAT prep.. so I can't throw much light ...I would like to have some thought of Instructors here..
Please explain how much academic and upto what level affects the admission process..in general apart from varalaxmi's case..
