European MBA Programs - Application Deadlines

I am looking to apply to several European Business Schools for the full time MBA program. Most of the programs I have looked at (ESADE, EADA, Cass Business School, SDA Bocconi, University College Dublin) have either rolling application deadlines or up to 6 stages / deadline dates.

I am curious to know if applying in the middle of these "stages" is similar to applying in stage 2 for a US program? If applying for the September intake in March for these schools, is there still a shot?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

I think you should just apply as soon as you're ready... I just got back from an MBA even tonight and they reiterated that the sooner the better.. in ALL cases...
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

HI there Kevin!

Similar situation this end.
- applying to EU schools
- just decided to do so
- taking the GMAT on 1st March (23 days from now)
(do you hvae your results)

So i wouldnt get all my applications in before end March. Everyone i spoke to has been very discouraging (unfortunately im counting on some funding as well).
Well despite all of that, i have my heart set on starting school this fall, so i am goin to go through the process anyway.

what schoools are you applying to?
I ahve cass, oxbridge and imperial on my wish list.

Hi Nitya,

I am set to take the gmat on the March 6th so I, too, will be applying in late March. May be somewhat of a long shot depending on how well the gmat goes but will be worth it if I get in!

I am thinking about Cass, University College Dublin, EADA and SDA Bocconi.

Nitya/Kevin,

I'm sure you each have good reasons for applying this year and I wouldn't discourage you from doing so. (You will at least learn something). However, I know that if I had it to do all over again, I would begin studying in February for an April test in the hopes of applying for the following year. You are at an advantage if you are applying for next year and at a disadvantage for this year. Can you overcome it? Sure. But from all accounts, there are a lot of great candidates applying this year and most of them will have put 40+ hours into each application. If you can't do that you will be at a disadvantage.

Imperial is a very good college. But London is freaking expensive, Oxbrigde is equally great, but your quality of life woul be much higher. Plus, Judge is next to wht they call 'British Silicon Valley', so depending on what you do next, Oxbridge could be a good choice.
I have combed through so man european programs, I feel like an expert :) So, if you need an opinion, just ask! ))

I'm planning to apply to SDA Bocconi for fall 2011, and I plan to do so as close as possible to the beginning of the app cycle. I want every advantage I can get!

Hey guys!

thanks for the help. i have to say...from what i hear applying this year doesnt look very promising, but think i will go along with it anyway. Would be good practice albeit an expensive and trying one.

wonder if ill have the heeart to go trhpugh it again.
AS of now, baby the steps- 1st march- the gmat!

pls keep any tips about late applications coming.

^^ I don't know what is the first school you are talking about. Cranfield is a very good one, you should definitely check it out for yourself.
Edinburgh University Business School was among the most interesting for me, I applied there, and got accepted. I like its location, small class size and their specalizatio in International Business.

Finally, I found a thread where people are discussing their situation that is very close to mine! :)

I have my GMAT tomorrow and was looking for help in deciding which 5 schools to send my scores to.
I want a 1 year full-time program OUTSIDE of the US and am still hoping to start this year. Any responses to this message in the next 10 hours will be very useful!

Right now I think I will go with:

Cranfield Univ, UK
City Univ, UK
HEC, Paris
ESADE, Spain
IMD, Switzerland.

Hiya Matt,

Im taking the GMAT on Monday and applying this year as well...im sort of focusing on UK schools...so i have cambridge and casss on my list.
How abut IE spain? and insead..(cant remember if you have that on your list already)

Just a quick question, you pick your schools before you see your result rt? And i know you can get back ant request the scores to be sent to the schools at mba.com...but do you have to pay for that?

Yeah, you pick schools before you see the score. I think that's illogical but that's how it is.
Yes, you can send the scores later to more schools but you have to pay extra.

What is Cambridge's deadline? Wouldn't it be late for that now?
