B. Shrinking faster than any other nation, Japan's population has a projected decline of
C. The population of Japan is shrinking faster than that of any other nation and is projected to decline by
D. The Japanese population is shrinking faster than any other nation, and it has a projected decline at
E. Japan's population is shrinking faster than that of any other nation, with a projected decline at

Don't know the OA.Please help me find the answer between C and E.Explanations please!

IMO C

- Correct comparison
- "is projected to decline by .... " is idiomatic

In E:
"with a projected decline at " - this doesnt sound correct

C sounds best .. in E the project decline at ... is problematic...

is the use of with to introduce the next clause correct in E??

2 errors in E.

Japan's population vs population of Japan - population of Japan is correct

With - with means that population is with something...

We can also say "is projected to decline by".

However, we can't say "a projected decline at".

Quick way to the right answer: In comparison problems, the right answer often has the phrase "that of" or "those of" in it. Only one choice has that phrase, so this could have been the first choice we evaluated.

Ahh, I didn't see that in choice E. But at least this is a quick way to see which choices you will check first.
