Phytoestrogen, a substance derived from the plant Cimicifuga racemosa, which has proved useful in treating some symptoms of menopause, is also sometimes used to treat other disorders like sore throats and kidney problems.

(b),(c),(e)- not complete sentences [comma doesn't connect two verb clauses]

A is wrong. When "which" is used after a comma, it must refer to that directly preceding the comma. In this case, the plant itself is directly preceding. That can't be right because the plant itself does not treat the symptoms, the substance derived from it does.

I believe E is the correct answer.

None of the answer choices seems correct. Abhasjha, if you encountered this SC while using the GMATPrep software, please provide a screen shot. Otherwise, please cite the source.

If you read through the MGMAT thread, you'll note that the source of this SC has not been verified.
Until such verification can be obtained, I would ignore this SC.
