Let x be the distance of one side.

Total time taken = 105 mins= 105/60= 7/4 hrs

Since time= distance/speed

time taken to travel one-way + time taken to come back(same way)= total time

=> x/3 + x/4 =7/4

=> x= 3; which distance of one side or length of trail(as asked in the question).

My Answer is 6.

Yes u have 2 convert 105 minutes into hours..

average speed forumula =( 2*X*Y/X+Y)
= 2*4*3/7= 24/7

time taken 105 minutes = 105/60 hrs = 7/4 hrs

there fore the distance = 24/7*7/4 = 6.

hope its clear

The question is asking about the trail length, which is 3.

So 6, which is total journey, is incorrect!

Thank you very much! Didn't have to multiply by 2! :D
