Wildfires are not necessarily destructive

An excellent question from
McGraw Hill conquering GMAT Verbal & Writing. (rewrite the sentence without mistakes if any)

Wildfires are not necessarily destructive to the environment; on the contrary, the
fires clear out debris, preventing the accumulation of materials, and guarding
against even more intense blazes.

I don't find this exercise particularly helpful becuase you will never be asked to work a quesiton without answer choices on the GMAT.
