By what percentage did the price of a pound of tomatoes increase?
(1) Before the increase, the price of a pound of tomatoes was 50 cents.
(2) The price of tomatoes increased by 20 cents per pound.

(1) Before the increase, the price of a pound of tomatoes was 50 cents but there is info on the price after increase; NOT sufficient.

(2) The price of tomatoes increased by 20 cents per pound but we do not what was the price before increase; NOT sufficient.

Combining (1) and (2), we get the percent increase = (20/50) * 100; SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is C.
