what do you mean by rounds after gmat

Hi can anyone letme know what do you mean by rounds after GMAT exam.

Most schools have application rounds. What this means is that they have several (usually 3) different deadlines. In general, you have better chances of getting accepted if you apply to an earlier round, as spots fill up on an ongoing basis. However, if you have a stellar application it may still be possible to be accepted in a late round.

Can you please specify more on, what does it mean by deadlines.
like what are the dates for this deadlines.
