I am an indian , 27 yrs old.

10th 78%
12th 78%
BE 68%

won quiz contests in skool, debates, awards by CM delhi and Nobel laureate for quizzing.

Event mgmt in college. founded technical grp to organize inter coll competitions.
placement coordinator for my batch and juniors... there was no placement cell in college.. for my success to attract companies i was invited by 2 colleges to help them get it right..
joined IT company in 2007 as trainee.. helped village burnt down in orisa.. got local funding 65k rs for their help..
funding rural empowerment dev prg with NGO in bihar..
working on business plan in healthcare.. with a friend.. thats my dream to run it as an enterprise.. and extend it to african nations and developing countries.. showed protoype to govt of india and a pharam company..
like to make life simpler.. made address book for dad.. diabetes monitoring system for mom.. romantic web pages for matters of hear..
poet..
thrill seeker.. drummer. recorded songs.. have played for non profit.. band in usa and india..
prof exp..
Led international proj. in charge of 3 teams in 3 diff countries .. to achieve proj in 9 months..
written terms of contrct between my comp and ex client on which part of prj runs..
5 yrs.. from trainee to project lead.. leading account in USA. i see it as rapid growth..most poeple dont even get half of the ladder i have climbed.. saying that humbly..
leading 20 people.. 4 teams directly.. performance reviewing team..
identifying growth areas for company..
Dream: simplifying life with solutions + healthcare work is motivation for ... simplyfying healthcare code in idian.. hence.. healthcare proj with govt of india is the goal..

my preffered colleges. i think i have a strong profile... my GMAT didnt go that well.. but i have strong recommendations from clients and my comp.. what are my chances??????

Hmmm, Im not 100% sure what your question is. Do you want me to reply about your chances to help you cut down your list by eliminating schools that will be hard?

I mean because at this point, you seem to be in pretty good shape. Meaning despite your low GMAT, you have your admit in hand. So does it matter whether you apply to "extremely challenging" schools or not?

If you can give me a bit of direction about what you are looking for and what you are trying to figure out, I'll gladly help.

Hey Jon,

given what you see in my post, am i aiming to high with the MBA college list i have or do you think its a good list? also, if u think some colleges out of those list are still out of reach i want direction on how to get it right.

Also what is your feedback on IE business school ?

Okay I see.. Well, yes IE is a good program, if it meets your needs. It is one of the highest ranked programs in Europe and they have amazing employment statistics...

As for your list, well actually I don't know your GMAT, but if you wrote that it is low, I guess schools like Tuck, Kellogg and Booth will likely be out of reach for you...

The way i want to explain my gmat is tht i hv good quant score 44
That combined with 77 pc on mathematics during engineering , one of which i scored 93 on 100
Same in high school
As for verbal i believe my track record of wrk ,international experience
Leading teAms in different geagraphies and wording contracts suffices .
Is that convincing enough?

Not really convincing sorry.. your GMAT is your GMAT and when it comes to your GMAT, your score is what counts... there's no room for stories really... So with Kellogg and Tuck and Duke, yes I would say you are aiming a wee bit too high.. but why worry? you have your Admit!

Well yea i have an admit from IE. Post admission i have had a few bad experiences so not sure if i am too convinced to go there . Plus the economy . IE HASNT published any, recruitment data for its prev batches . So all in all not the college that i was sold for when I met the reps and alum in chicago. Bht since my joining is in Nov, i wanna try and secure my other favourite places ,

I guess you re right duke rejected me . But is it all about the GMAT ? I mean i have visited many campuses and fairs and all they say is its 'holistic' evaluation. What i understand is 'gmat plus application' . Is it ' good gmat plus great application' .

Well it's always holistic! I mean technically, you could get into Harvard with a 580... one or two do every year... but holistically they are usually super strong candidates (Air force captains who are the son of a senator and stuff like that) so things do h ave to balance out, it is also your work experience and your applications and your GPA and your recommendations. Everything is important. but the GMAT is a clear numerical indicator for all.
