What is the level of OG Problem Solving.

by vishalg1980 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 7:59 pm
Hi all,

I am preparing for GMAT and targeting for Feb 2010. I went through problem solving exercises of OG 12th Edition. From around 230 problems I am able to crack 210 with average time of 1.25 minutes. And most of the errors are generally careless mistakes rather than wrong approach. Please guide me about the level of the problems in this section. How should i take my preparation for GMAT in terms of problem solving?

If OG is not the ultimate source for GMAT problem solving please guide me for best source for this.

I am targeting around 720-740 for GMAT.

Thanks
Vishal

Welcome to Beat The GMAT!

The Official Guide features practice questions representing a range of difficulty. As a general rule of thumb, each section of this book is arranged in order of difficulty, and the questions toward the end of the section tend to be more advanced.

OG is the best book hands down for GMAT practice, since it's the only book on the market that features real but retired questions.

In terms of strategy for preparing for PS or any section of the GMAT--take a look at this post: https://www.beatthegmat.com/gmat-practic ... s-t68.html

It's really important to use your OG resource wisely, so be sure to review the post I cited above, since it outlines a methodology for going through your practice that I personally believe is quite valuable.

Good luck, and please don't hesitate to reach out to this community if you have any other questions. We're here to see you succeed. :)
