Books for 700+ in GMAT

by gmatmonger » Wed Jul 03, 2013 10:09 pm
Hi,

Can anyone please suggest me few books for scoring more than 700 in GMAT. I was thinking of buying KAPLAN 800, but got mixed reviews about it being good and bad. Please suggest few good books form where i can practice. I am looking for practice questions and not strategies, for strategies i already have Manhattan Series books.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, very few resources (not all books) represent the 700+ level, on majority of their content. The few that do:

* MGMAT Advanced Quant
* 10 New Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests (CR & RC)
* Jeff Saksmann's challenge sets
* GMAT Club Tests
* 700 level(tagged) questions on this website, and on gmat club.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Can you please point to the resources of those Jeff's challenge tests and LSAT papers, that would be a great help.

Thanks again. :)

The LSAT tests can be purchased from amazon, LSAC does provide a free test that has around 50 questions for CR (LR).

Jeff saksmann's sets can be found at www.gmathacks.com

Thanks for the question. First you should know that there is no study strategy that works for everyone or that can guarantee you a specific score, but I can offer you some suggestions. Our research team did a study of GMAT test-takers and did find some common study habits among students who did well on the exam: https://officialgmat.mba.com/2012/04/19/ ... mat-score/. You may also want to try some of our official GMAT prep products. All of our products use real, retired GMAT questions, so they will give you a good idea of what to expect on the exam. A good place to start is with GMATPrep, our free online study software. It comes with study questions and two free practice exams: https://www.mba.com/store/product-info.a ... ID=80.0042.

Because GMAC cannot comment on test prep products by third-party test prep companies, I recommend you also post this question to one of the general study strategy forums, where others can also offer suggestions.

GMAC does not recommend using LSAT study materials to prepare for the exam, as the LSAT is created and administered by a different testing organization, and is designed to measure skillsets that are very different from the ones measured in the GMAT exam.

Good luck!
