Actually I didn't finish my Analysis of Issue (2nd essay) the first time around, because I didn't put any thought into it prior to GMAT, and I was stumped during the heat of the moment. I was mentally prepared on how I was going to handle the Analysis of Issue essay for my 2nd retake.

My approach for the first essay was straight forward, I just attack the crap out of the argument. I used the standard 5 paragraph approach, introduction, then attacking 3 different assumptions that the argument failed to address or clarify, and end with the two sentences conclusion.

My approach for the 2nd essay was also straight forward, pick a side and cite examples as support. Initially I was going to make 4 different arguments, but I was running a bit short on time so I presented 3 arguments instead. I was a liberal art major, so I was able to provide a lot of examples with historical context as supporting premises. I think the key for the 2nd essay is to have lengthy supporting evidences, and also be able to connect them to the main point.

Given the time they sent out these results, I wonder whether AWA essays are reviewed by Americans.
