Here's a fairly easy one. I would love to hear your option and the basis for the selection:

Improved technology and equipment often result in fewer injuries during high-risk activities such as mountaineering and scuba diving. But participant education also plays a large role in reducing the number of injuries sustained during these activities. People who are poorly trained in these activities run a much higher risk of injury even if provided with the latest and best equipment.

Which of the following can be properly inferred from the information above?
a. Training is a more important safety factor than equipment in high-risk activities.
b. People who are properly trained in their activities do not sustain injuries.
c. The safety benefits of the latest equipment can be offset by inadequate preparation.
d. Mountaineering and scuba diving are more risky than any other activities.
e. People with the latest equipment often neglect proper training.

IMO C

a. Training is a factor but its difficult to say if training is more important than other factors.
b. "do not sustain"is very extreme statement
c. Correct. Question says that poorly trained run a higher risk of getting injured
d. Mountaineering and scuba diving are jst examples.
e. Not sufficient info to support this

I was between A and C here. I think that the last sentance "People who are poorly trained in these activities run a much higher risk of injury even if provided with the latest and best equipment. " leads me to think perhaps C.

But I can also agree with A. I think perhaps I am making a little leap in C where I should be simply looking to restate (as most inference questions seem to be).

OA is option C.

What sounded confusing to me was that there is no mention of 'preparation' anywhere in the arguement. Terms 'Inadequate preparation' and 'poorly trained' literally mean different things.
