If the circus were to sell all of its 220 tickets for this month's performance at their usual price, the revenue from sales would be 10% greater than that collected last month. However, the circus raised the ticket price by 5% and sold only 200 tickets as a result. What percent less was last month's revenue than that of this month?
A. 2
B. 5
C. 100/21
D. 110/20
E. 9/4

x = usual price
R = revenue last month
N = new revenue

220*x = 1.1*R
R = x*220/1.1 = 200x

200*(1.05*x) = N
N = 210x

Percentage decrease = 100*((N - R)/N)
= 100*((210x - 200x)/210x)
= 100*10x/210x
= 1000/210 = 100/21 = C

Again picking no here.
Let reg price be 100.
So for this month total revenue could be 220*100
if last months rev was x then

1.1x=220*100
x= 220*100/1.1 = 200*100

but now ticket price has become 105
sales 200 tickets
Revenue 200*105 =210*100

so last months revnuew was (200*100 - 210*100)/210*100 % less = 100/21 percent less hence C.
