Should I apply in Round 1 or Round 2. Please see my list of colleges and back ground below.
I appeared for GMAT on 27th of September and scored a measly 620!!!!!! . I was confident and was getting 670 on MGMAT and about the same on Gmat prep Test 1 and Test 2.
This was my second attempt. The first time I got a 590 and got admitted to Washington University in St louis, but could not join the college and had to defer my admission to Spring. Then I moved to california and had to give up my seat.
This time I decided to take the GMAt again.
I gave all the test on Knewton, MGMAT and GMAT PREP(4 times in last 2 weeks). I was hoping to get a score around 660, but verbal got me bad. I got Maths- 48 and V - 27. I had to rush through around 4-5 questions and got an 1 RC pretty late in the game. It was the biggest RC with 4 big paragraphs, and had around 4-5 questions. I think that's what got me and the down ward trend started.
3 months wasted!!!! I don't have the energy or time to retake the test. Too dejected and feel like kicking myself and everything looks like falling apart. I was targeting the following schools:
IESE
Darden
ESADE
Duke
Carnegie Mellon
Emory -- Not sure about it
UNC Chapel Hill - Kenan flalger
Notre Damn
Mccombs
Indiana university
I guess I will take my chances. I work on my application and reccos. I have a very strong list of Extra curricular activities, 2 small but failed attempt at business model that I tried while I was studying. A GPA of 3.5 in Engg- Computer science and 6.5 yrs of work experience in IT industry.
When I look at half of the college on my list, they seem a long shot to me. I have lost the enthu... to work on my application now.
Too frustrated -- Dinesh
