A motorcycle stunts man belonging to a fair, rides over the vertical walls of a circular well at an average speed of 54 kph for 5 minutes. If the radius of the well is 5 meters then the distance traveled is:

1. 2.5 kms
2. 3.5 kms
3. 4.5 kms
4. 5.5 kms
5. None of the above

At an average speed of 54 kph after travelling for 5 min
The stuntman would have travelled: 5/60 x 54 km = 4.5 km

Answer is (3)

Hi all!

The task here is to avoid unnecessary calculations.
We don't need information about radius of the well.
We simply need to use formula for speed, which is v = s/t.
s = ?
v = 54 kmph
t = 5min = 5/60 h
s = v*t = 54*5/60 = 4.5 km
Therefore, correct answer is 3.

Hope it helps!
Best,
Maciek

What do you mean by, question from GMAT. If this is real test question then remove it asap.

Just FYI - Posting real questions is against the policy of GMAC and if you get caught then you might end up with sever penalty
