Solution:
We have d*(k/100)*2 = 600.
Or rate percent = k/100 = 600/2d = 300/d.
Let the amount that yields 2,400 over 3 years be x.
Or x*(300/d)*3 = 2400.
Or x = 2400d/(300*3) = 8d/3.
