It is clearly between A and C but I cannot make the difference

I think its answer should be 'C" because 'resembling' is parallel to 'shimmering'.

Don't exagerate with the parallelism thing. It's not the case here. The expresions "found in ..." and "has..." are not parallel.

The answer is C, but not because of parallelism.
