DS doubt2

Does x + y = 0?
(1) xy<0
(2) x2 = y2
Ans Given is : C but I think B as 2 statement is alone sufficient..

Please give me ur comments

(2) tells you that x = +y or x = -y. You cannot conclude x+y=0 from
this alone.

(1) tells you that either x or y (but not both) is negative.

Hence C

Stat(1) says that either x or y must be negative.The ans can be yes or no if u pick numbers.

Stat(2) says that x^2=y^2 ...Here u should always remember that x^2 can be +x or -x.therefore u cannot conclude anything from this.

So the answer is C
