MGMAT 'Reason'

Can someone tell me what's wrong with that?

Why do you have reason and because in the same sentence?

Reason for something is... Because both mean the same thing!
" The reason he is here is because he wants to be. "
can be written as He is here because he wants to be.

It's correct in real English. On the GMAT, it's extra words.
