The creatures aren't suffering from "dwindling food supplies".

Ex :

Gmatrant is suffering from the accident. NO

Gmatrant is suffering because of the injuries.

I am confused whether usage 'resulting from + gerund (increasing)'

I thought it should be 'resulting from an increase in'

basically, is 'resulting from + gerund' correct?

'resulting from + gerund' can be correct, just as 'resulting from an increase in'.

Ex: Mold insurance policy sales have doubled resulting from increasing rainfall averages across the country.
