Two important facts about parallelograms:
- opposite angles (e.g., x and z) are equal
- adjacent angles (e.g., y and x, or y and x) add to 180

(1) Since y and x are adjacent angles, we know x+y=180, which means y=180-x
Now take statement one, y=2x and replace y with 180-x to get: 180-x = 2x
We can solve this for x, so statement (1) is SUFFICIENT

(2) Since z and x are oppposite angles, we know z=x.
So, if x+z=120, we know that x = z = 60
Statement (2) is SUFFICIENT

Thanks a lot for your descriptive reply. While solving this problem, I missed to consider fact 2. Test taker really love to design such question.
