I really don't understand why the publishers of the Official Guide don't create an online version. All they have to do is provide a link on mba.com and ask people to buy access. There is technology available to ensure that it is not copied easily... just look at GMATFocus tests or Kaplan's online courses. It'll probably take as big an effort to copy such an online version as it would take to photocopy and scan the actual book.
I don't want to buy the hard copy online mainly because I have to wait for 3 years for it to arrive. Heck I don't even want to buy the book because this is a computer-based test so I want to practice on the computer!
The folks at GMAC/Pearson need to get with the times.
